Sam Polakoff is the winner of two American Fiction Awards

He is the third-generation owner of Nexterus, a family-owned, non-asset based third party logistics company. After retiring as CEO in 2024, Sam has focused on researching and writing captivating historical fiction, where readers may immerse themselves in prolific time periods of American history.

​Sam is the co-founder of the Chesapeake Regional Authors & Artists Festival, also known as CRAA Fest, an annual weekend-long celebration of art and writing. When not writing, you can find Sam cheering on his beloved Los Angeles Dodgers, walking Maddie, the playful Golden Retriever along the local nature trail, reading a great novel, playing golf, or doing what he loves most, spending time with his wife, Denise, and his children and grandchildren.
